Charlotte Knights News Release
FORT MILL, S.C. - April 14, 2008- Columbus was able to avoid a sweep in Charlotte, Monday night with a 2-1 victory. The Knights were unable to do much against a strong pitching performance by Clippers starting pitcher Mike O' Conner (1-0, 2.25). O'Conner pitched six innings, giving up five hits with 10 strikeouts on the night. A solo home run in the bottom of the 4th by Knights outfielder Jason Bourgeois, ruined what was otherwise a perfect pitching night for O' Conner.
Brian Sanches (S2, 0.00) picked up the save for the Clippers.
Tomo Ohka (0-2, 6.91) went seven innings, giving up eight hits and two runs, striking out seven.
The Knights begin a four-game homestand with the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees on Tuesday. Lance Broadway (2-0, 0.64) gets the start for the Knights. The Yankees will send Steven White (0-1, 6.30), game time is 7:15.
The Charlotte Knights are the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. For ticket or event information, please contact the Knights front office at (704) 357-8071 or (803) 548-8050 or visit our website at www.charlotteknights.com for more information.
