CLINTON, IA - The Loons remain winless during their current six-game roadtrip, dropping their fifth straight Tuesday night by a 4-2 count to the Clinton LumberKings.
Engel Beltre and Renny Osuna each homered to lead the Clinton offensive attack. It was the first home run of the season for both players. Tim Smith also added an RBI and went 3-for-4.
Steven Johnson (2-1) started for the Loons and surrendered all four runs (three earned) to record his first loss of the season. Matt Sartor hurled three scoreless innings of relief and Miguel Ramirez, the Loons' closer, added a scoreless eighth in his first action since April 22.
Jaime Ortiz hit a two-run homer down the right field line for the Loons' lone runs. Leadoff hitter Jovanny Rosario went 3-for-4.
The Loons (11-13) and LumberKings (17-5) conclude their three-game series Wednesday from Clinton beginning at 8pm ET. The game will be carried in Mid-Michigan on the flagship home for Great Lakes Loons baseball, ESPN 100.9-FM, and worldwide at Loons.com.
