CLEARWATER, Fla. - Mitch Walding and Dylan Cozens led the offense with two hits apiece on Sunday, but the Clearwater Threshers suffered a 10-2 loss at the hands of the Dunedin Blue Jays in the series opener at Bright House Field.

Dunedin (21-27) broke it open early, racing ahead with seven runs against Victor Arano in the third inning.

Boomer Collins and Mike Reeves got it started with back-to-back singles, and Anthony Alford added a base knock of his own to load the bases.

Arano (4-11) bared down to strike out Derrick Loveless on three pitches, but LB Dantzler followed by shooting a two-run single to left on an 0-2 pitch to break open the scoring.

Ultimately, Dunedin rallied for seven runs on six hits and a hit batsman in the inning, capping the surge on Dickie Joe Thon's second home run of the season.

Clearwater (30-20) broke the shutout against Shane Dawson in the fifth.

After Aaron Brown dragged a perfect bunt single to start the inning, Walding jumped on the first pitch and yanked a double to right to put two men in scoring position with nobody out.

Dawson (2-1) got Derrick Campbell out swinging, but Malquin Canelo's grounder to the right side brought home Brown with Clearwater's first run.

In his first outing since August 1st, Cody Forsythe kept the Blue Jays scoreless through 2.2 innings, before Dunedin rallied for three against him in the sixth. Alexis Rivero allowed an RBI single to Matt Dean to begin his outing, but set down the final seven he faced in order before Ulises Joaquin's scoreless ninth.

Down 10-1, the Threshers brought home a final run in the bottom of the ninth on Walding's two-out RBI single.

Clearwater will look to rebound on Monday as the Threshers head to Florida Auto Exchange Stadium to battle the Blue Jays at 6:30 p.m. Ricardo Pinto (6-2) takes the hill against Conor Fisk (0-1), and the call can be heard live on the Threshers Broadcast Network starting at 6:15 p.m.
