Danville, IL - The Danville Dashers went to battle with the Port Huron Prowlers at the David S. Palmer Arena last night. Danville came into the contest sporting a Federal Hockey League leading 12-4-2 record, and the Prowlers, in second place, at 11-4-2. Danville would be lead by the four goal, and one assist performance of Brent Clarke, and the three assist (all of those coming on Clarke goals) performance of Lester Brown.

"As a team we just kept going and kept chipping away and finally took the lead. I just found myself in the right place at the right time tonight." said Clarke when asked about the his performance.

"He played well, and fought hard. Him and I play very will together." said Clarke about Brown's three assist night.

Clarke didn't start his scoring night until the Dashers had found themselves down 2-0 midway through the second period, but a three goal spurt in less than two and a half minutes put the Dashers the lead, which they would never give up. Two of those goals came from Clarke, with the other coming from Myles McCauley. Danville would take that 3-2 lead into the locker room after the second period.

Clarke got things started for Danville in the third period, just a minute and 27 second into it, giving him the hat trick in front of a crowd of almost 1,000. Justin Brausen extended that lead 23 seconds later, making the game 5-2 Danville. The Prowlers' Justin Alonzo would make it 5-3 midway through the third, giving him his second goal of the night. Clarke would counter with his fourth goal of the night, making it 6-3 Danville. Alonzo would cap off his own hat trick late in the game, but that would be the closest Port Huron got, giving the Dashers the 6-4 win.

"Well I don't know if it is a good trend to have, but the last three games we have won, we have been down at least two goals, but it shows the guys don't give up, and they have the will to battle back." said Head Coach Steve Harrison when asked about the toughness, and grit of his hockey team.

"He is just getting himself in the right position, and cashing in on his opportunities" later added Harrison about Clarke's performance.

The Dashers will be back in action on Saturday, in Port Huron, then at home on Sunday and Monday. Sunday and Monday's game will be against the Danbury Titians. The game will be at 5:05 on Sunday, and 7:05 on Monday. Monday's game will be "Manic Monday" and all tickets will be only $5.
