Clark Named Weekly "Be True to Your School" Winner

BOISE, Idaho, October 18, 2010 - Boise High School football coach Bob Clark is this week's "Be True to Your School" award winner, presented by Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires.

The following are excerpts from the nominations for Coach Clark.

"Coach Clark provides an atmosphere which consistently fosters and demonstrates how a group of young men working together can succeed, adhering to the principles of sportsmanship."

"He works every day of his summer with players, encouraging and educating them. He is there for them and is genuinely concerned for everyone's well-being. He is selfless and confident in raising strong individuals with respect and honor."

"Coach Clark will not allow his players to sacrifice honesty and integrity in order to achieve wins on the field. He coaches the kids about life and making the right decisions all the time, whether it is on the field, in the classroom or in their personal lives."

Coach Clark will be invited to be a guest of the Idaho Stampede on Friday, November 26, to be recognized on-court for his award. Throughout the season, coaches will be invited to be recognized at Idaho Stampede basketball games and Idaho Steelheads hockey games at Qwest Arena.

The "Be True to Your School" program allows local fans to nominate a deserving high school athletics coach for recognition. The winning coaches will be invited to a game at Qwest Arena to be honored and the athletics department at the winner's school will receive a $750 donation from Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires. In all, $15,000 will be donated to area schools.

To nominate a coach for the award, visit the Commercial Tire website and click on the "Be True to Your School" logo. Fill out the nomination form and click "Submit Form." Once you've done that, your coach has officially be nominated. One winner per week will be selected through February 12, 2011.

Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires are working together with the NBA Development League's Idaho Stampede and the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads on the "Be True to Your School" promotion.

The Steelheads open the regular season on October 15 when they host the Victoria Salmon Kings at Qwest Arena. Ticket plans for the 2010-11 season are available right now, starting at just $275 per seat for all 36 home games during the regular season. Partial-season plans are also available.
