SEATTLE, WASH. - As Sounders FC travels to face Columbus Crew SC in the 2020 MLS Cup Final this Saturday, the Rave Green continue to find support from home, including the City of Tukwila, home to the club's training ground at Starfire Sports. Tomorrow at noon PT, the City of Tukwila will issue an official proclamation declaring December 12, 2020 as Seattle Sounders FC Spirit Day.

The proclamation will be read by Mayor Allan Ekberg, joined by Councilmember Kate Kruller, Sounders FC General Manager & President of Soccer Garth Lagerwey and Sounders FC Senior Vice President of Legal & External Affairs Maya Mendoza-Exstrom.

With health and safety considerations top of mind, tomorrow's event will be held virtually, hosted by the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce and South King Media. Fans and media who wish to view the event may do so via a livestream available on South King Media's Facebook page, @southkingmedia.

The Rave Green have spent their entire MLS existence, as well as parts of their USL days, based out of Starfire Sports in Tukwila, and tomorrow's proclamation stands as a show of support from the City of Tukwila and its residents for Sounders FC ahead of the team's 2020 MLS Cup Final.

This year's appearance marks the fourth time in five seasons that Sounders FC has reached Major League Soccer's championship match. The club won its first MLS Cup in 2016 against Toronto FC at BMO Field, followed by a defeat to the Reds in 2017. Last season, Seattle once again faced Toronto - this time at home - and took a second title in a convincing 3-1 victory in front of a record-setting crowd in excess of 69,000.

This year's MLS Cup Final sees Sounders FC take on Columbus Crew SC at MAPFRE Stadium in a 5:30 p.m. PT kickoff broadcast nationally on FOX and UniMás.
