
Cincinnati's Schultz named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Jesse Schultz of the Cincinnati Cyclones is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Dec. 11-17. It is the second time in his career that he has received the weekly honor.
Schultz scored two goals, added five assists and was a +5, helping the Cyclones to a 3-0-0 record last week.
The 35-year-old had a goal and two assists in a 6-3 win against Fort Wayne on Wednesday, added an assist in a 6-1 victory over Quad City on Friday and notched three assists in a 4-2 win against the Mallards on Saturday.
A native of Strasbourg, Saskatchewan, Schultz is tied for 11th in the ECHL with 28 points (10g-18a) in 25 games this season.
Schultz has totaled 153 points (71g-82a) in 147 career ECHL games with Cincinnati, Rapid City and Columbia while adding 252 points (112g-140a) in 375 career American Hockey League games with Manitoba, Chicago and Houston. He appeared in National Hockey League games with Vancouver during the 2006-07 season.
Prior to turning pro, Schultz recorded 229 points (110g-119a) in 272 career games in the Western Hockey League with Tri-City, Prince Albert and Kelowna.
On behalf of Jesse Schultz, a case of pucks will be donated to a Cincinnati youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 37,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
