Cincinnati Kings News Release

CHARLOTTE--In a delayed game that lasted until nearly midnight, the Cincinnati Kings pulled off the 1-0 upset on the road Friday night against the Division leading Charlotte Eagles at Waddell Stadium in Charlotte.

The lone score of the game came in the 10th minute when George Kithas took a cross pass from Jack Cummings and fired into the goal. The ball deflected back to Kithas, who buried it for his fourth goal of the season.

The Kings' game started almost two hours late, because of a Charlotte Lady Eagles' game that ran long and delayed the start of the men's game until after 9 p.m.

The Kings dominated in the first half, with two other scoring chances that just missed the net.

"We had missed opportunities early," said Head Coach Jon Pickup. "But it was a total victory and a great way to start the weekend."

The Kings up their record to 5-4-4 with the win. They stay on the east coast this weekend to play the Wilmington Hammerheads on Saturday night.
