
Cincinnati Kings Buy Town & Country Sports Complex

CINCINNATI (Oct. 5, 2007) - The Cincinnati Kings have purchased the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Kentucky, for $11.3 million. The deal gives the Kings, who compete in the United Soccer Leagues (USL) Second Division, a permanent home in Greater Cincinnati.
"This is an exciting announcement not only for the Kings, but the entire Greater Cincinnati soccer community," said Yacoub Abdallahi, owner of the Cincinnati Kings. "With the purchase of a great multi-faceted home like Town & Country, we are investing in our future and the future of the soccer community."
The new management team will consist of familiar faces led by Abdallahi as the owner and Chief Executive Officer. J.T. Roberts, the General Manager of the Kings, will serve as the Chief Operating Officer and former owner Kevin Molony, Kentucky's 2006 Small Business Person of the Year, will stay on as the president to oversee operations.
"The new ownership will provide new opportunities in both the fitness and the soccer aspects of the facility for us," said Molony. "Our management team is experienced in running successful fitness and soccer organizations."
Town & Country Sports Complex is home to 5,000 members and more than 500,000 yearly visitors. The 100,000 square foot facility includes a fitness center with stretching equipment, multiple weight machines, free weights, three group exercise studios, a spinning studio, two indoor pools, and an upper and lower deck cardio area.
In addition to the being the home of the Kings during the 2007 soccer season, Town & Country is also the home of the Northern Kentucky University men's and women's soccer programs. Thomas More College also plays some of their home games at the facility. NK United, one of the largest youth soccer clubs in Greater Cincinnati with over 1,100 youth players, also plays out of Town & Country, as does the Northern Kentucky Volleyball Club. Including their World Cup-sized professional field, Town & Country has five outdoor soccer fields that accompany the two indoor fields. The Kings and Town & Country will continue to offer private soccer lessons, camps, and indoor leagues during the winter.

The Cincinnati Kings recently completed their third season of play in the USL Second Division. Abdallahi, an entrepreneur from Northern Africa who graduated from Northern Kentucky University, where he played soccer, founded the franchise with Roberts, a former professional soccer player and local youth soccer coach.
