Chukars Roster Begins to Take Shape

With less than a week until Pioneer League Opening Day, the Kansas City Royals have begun to assign players to the Idaho Falls Chukars.
Among the first players listed on the Idaho Falls roster are Igol Feliz, Arnaldo Hernandez, Drew Milligan, Tanner Stanley and Meibrys Viloria.
Feliz and Hernandez, both right-handed pitchers, are slated to join the Chukars' starting rotation. Feliz signed with the Royals in 2011 and has a 16-9 career record. With Burlington in 2015, he had a 3.32 ERA over 13 appearances (10 starts). Hernandez, a third-year professional from Venezuela, started one game for the Chukars in 2015. He spent most of the season with Surprise of the Arizona League, where he compiled a 7-3 record and struck out 68 in 67 innings while walking just five batters.
Milligan, a left-handed reliever and a 2015 22nd -round draft pick of the Royals, spent his first pro season in Idaho Falls. In 17 relief appearances, Milligan struck out 25 in 24 1/3 innings and recorded two saves.
Outfielder Tanner Stanley split 2015 between Burlington and Surprise after being drafted out of the University of Richmond, where he was a freshman All-American in 2013. Stanley is the son of former Major League All-Star Mike Stanley.
Finally, catcher Meibrys Viloria comes to Idaho Falls after playing part of 2014 and all of 2015 in Burlington. He also spent time with the Dominican League Royals in 2014, where he was the team's Player of the Year after hitting .306 with a pair of home runs, eight doubles and 20 RBI.
