Chukars' Offense Explodes for Series Split

Great Falls, MT - The Voyagers surrendered several early runs and never recovered in a 13-4 loss to Idaho Falls in the series finale Sunday afternoon at Centene Stadium.

The teams split the four-game series. Great Falls (25-28, 3-12) fell to 18-11 at home this season, and dropped to 11-7 against the South Division. Idaho Falls (28-25, 7-8) improved to 9-9 against North opponents and 15-14 on the road.

The Chukars opened the scoring with two in the 2nd. After Reed Rohlman walked to start the inning, he later scored on a catcher's throwing error at third. Hunter Strong registered an RBI single in the frame as well.

Idaho Falls scored four times in each of the 3rd and 4th innings. Reed Rohlman capped the 3rd with a two-run home run pulled high and deep to right. A three-run home run to right by Offerman Collado highlighted the 4th.

Great Falls scored twice in the 6th and two more again in the 7th. In the 6th, Jay Estes reached with a one-out double to the wall in left-center. Travis Moniot followed with a walk. Both runners scored on a double to left by Amado Nunez. Micah Coffey led off the 7th with a walk. With two outs, Maiker Feliz doubled to left for a run. Estes produced a run with his second double of the game off the wall in left-center. Idaho Falls finished the scoring with three additional runs in the 8th.

The 13 runs allowed by Great Falls matched a season-high. The Voyagers committed four errors. Nate Eaton collected three hits with three RBIs and three runs scored for Idaho Falls. Hunter Strong had a three-hit game as well. For Great Falls, Amado Nunez and Jay Estes both went 2-for-4.

On the mound, Jonathan Heasley picked up his first professional win. Heasley (1-1) took a no-hitter into the 4th and finished his five-inning start with just two hits allowed and one strikeout. Jason Bilous suffered the loss. Bilous (0-3) worked two innings and gave up six earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts and two walks.
