Wausau Woodchucks News Release
WATERLOO - The Wisconsin Woodchucks got in an early eight-run hole to the Waterloo Bucks and could not recover as the Bucks won, 12-4.
The Bucks took advantage of a shaky start by Woodchuck pitcher Jordan Luvisi as they scored five runs in the first inning. Thomas Lindauer and Cameron Perkins hit back-to-back home runs to score the first three runs, and then the Bucks tacked on two more in Luvisi ¬â¢s only inning of work.
The Bucks added two more runs in the fourth to make it 8-0 before the ¬ËChucks got on the board in the sixth. The first three batters of the inning reached, and runs scored on a double by Cody Regis and a sacrifice fly by Kyle DeMerritt.
The Bucks just kept tacking on runs, though, as they did not allow the ¬ËChucks to get back into the game. Waterloo collected 12 runs on 20 hits off of three Woodchucks pitchers as they took game two of the three game set. Robbie De La Cruz and Danny Susdorf did add on RBI-singles in the eighth, but it would not be enough as the ¬ËChucks fell 12-4.
Luvisi took the loss for the ¬ËChucks, and Buck starter Chase Stevens got the win as the ¬ËChucks fell to 11-16 on the season.
The two teams will square off again tomorrow night in Waterloo for the final game of the series.
