Wausau Woodchucks News Release
Wausau, WIS - The Wisconsin Woodchucks (19-28, 6-6 Second Half) didn't have quite enough firepower Sunday to avoid losing the second of a two-game set to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (32-16, 8-4 Second Half), 14-7, at Athletic Park in Wausau, Wisconsin.
Steele Walker (Oklahoma) drove in a run with a fourth inning single and extended his hitting streak to 18 games. The all-time Woodchucks record is 19 straight games with a hit.
George Janca (Texas A&M) added three hits of his own, including a double, as well as three runs and an RBI. Chad Fleischman (Lamar) knocked a three-run homer over the left field fence in the second inning to bring the 'Chucks within a run and later added a single, a walk, and a run scored.
Michael Imperato (Lynn) hurled 4 1/3 innings of relief, allowing only one run with four strikeouts. Evy Ruibal (Notre Dame) threw a scoreless inning as well.
Robert Zeigler (Kent State) took the loss for the 'Chucks. After the three-day All-Star Break, the Woodchucks play Thursday against Lakeshore at Athletic Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Order your tickets today by calling 715.845.5055 or going online to woodchucks.com .
