The Rockford Lightning have improved to 12-5 on the season, going 2-0 over the weekend in Michigan on Friday and Albany on Sunday. The team has a league best 74.5 total quarter points and an average of 4.4-quarter points per game.

Lightning guards Ronnie Fields and Marlon Parmer led the team in scoring in Friday night's 115-104 victory over the fourth place Michigan Mayhem with 29 points apiece. Roger Powell led the team with 9 rebounds while scoring 25 points as the Lightning took 5.5-quarter points in the win.

Christmas Day saw the seventh straight Lightning victory as the team took down the Albany Patroons 128-112 in Albany, New York. Fields and Parmer led the Lightning in scoring for the second straight game with 30 points apiece while Powell picked up 23 points and 11 rebounds. Sunday's game was the fifth straight game in which Fields and Powell recorded 20 or more points each. Sidney Holmes picked up a CBA season record of 8 steals in the victory while picking up 9 rebounds and scoring a season high 21 points in the game.

Cordell Henry was with the team on the road but was sidelined with flu like symptoms for both games. Rookie center Marcus Campbell was not able to be with the team as he was home tending to a family emergency. Both players are expected to be in attendance for Wednesday night's showdown in Gary against the second-place Steelheads.

The Lightning will be in Gary on Wednesday, December 28, to face the Gary Steelheads at 7:05 P.M. (CST). Click the "This Week's Live Webcasts" button and choose the specific game you wish to see. The team will return home to the MetroCentre to face the Albany Patroons on Thursday, December 29. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:05 P.M. with the second poster giveaway of the season set for that night. The Chicago Bulls Bucket Boys will be performing at halftime so make sure to come out and join in on the excitement.
