SAN JOSE, CA- San Jose Giants shortstop Christian Arroyo has been named California League Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending on July 5. Arroyo began the week with a 5-for-5 night in Stockton on Tuesday, June 30. The five hits tied a team single-game record. He became the 34th player in the 28 year history of the San Jose Giants to record five hits in a single game.

In six total games last week, Arroyo hit. 500 (12-for-24) with three doubles, two home runs, six RBIs and two stolen bases. He also homered in back-to-back games on Wednesday and Thursday against the Ports at Banner Island Ballpark.

Arroyo was the San Francisco Giants first round draft pick in 2013. In 37 games this season for the San Jose Giants, he has hit .327 with 14 doubles, four home runs and 15 RBIs. Arroyo is the first San Jose Giant to receive Offensive Player of the Week honors in 2015.

The San Jose Giants continue their Independence Day homestand tonight against the Visalia Rawhide.
