
Chris Lugo Promoted To Potomac

WOODBRIDGE, Va.- The Potomac Nationals announced today that right-hander Chris Lugo has been promoted from Extended Spring Training and will replace outfielder Steve Doetsch on the 25-man roster.
Lugo spent all of 2007 with Low-Hagerstown appearing in 41 games, which were third most on the team. The 21-year-old went 2-5 with a 5.38 ERA. He allowed 60 runs, 52 earned, on 100 hits in 87 innings pitched, striking out 60 and walking 32.
A former 28th-round selection in the 2004 by the Montreal Expos, Lugo owns a career 9-12 record with a 3.74 ERA in four professional seasons. The North Carolina-native was named a NY-Penn League All-Star in 2006 after going 1-4 with a 2.54 ERA and striking out 33 batters in 39 innings.
Doetsch, who signed as a free agent with the Washington Nationals this past offseason, was hitting .083 with no home runs and two RBI in 11 games with the P-Nats.
