CHL Year End Awards Finalists Announced, RiverKings Have Three Nominees

SOUTHAVEN, Miss – The Central Hockey League has announced the finalists for their individual year-end awards. Three RiverKings are in the running: Don Parsons for Most Valuable Player, Derek Landmesser for Most Outstanding Defenseman and Jean-Francois Racine for Rookie of the Year. The ‘Kings have recorded points in seven of the last eight games. This Thursday Memphis hosts Laredo, followed by Oklahoma City on Friday with game time 7:05 p.m. for both nights. "There were certainly some difficult calls in terms of the five finalists for each voting award," said Steve Cherwonak, Vice-President of Communications for the CHL. "Our front office had some tough choices, but finally came to a consensus for the five finalists for each award."

Parsons leads the league in scoring with 51 goals and 94 points. Landmesser has 10 goals and is plus 29 on the season. Racine is 21-8-3 on the year with a 2.70 GAA and a .909 Save Percentage.
