CHL Announces Bauer/Nike Player of the Week, Vaughn Goaltender of the Week

Laredo right-winger Chris Grenville and San Angelo netminder Scott Reid have been selected as the recipients of the Central Hockey League's weekly awards for Week 20 of the CHL season. Grenville, leading the CHL with 44 goals this season, scored six times and added an assist in four contests for Laredo and claims Bauer/Nike Player of the Week honors, while Reid turned aside 98 shots in two games for San Angelo to earn Vaughn Goaltender of the Week selection. Both are multiple award recipients this season, as Grenville was also named Player of the Week in Week 13, and Reid was selected as Goaltender of the Week in both Week 1 and 15.
Grenville continued his assault on the 50-goal plateau with six goals scored in four games, leading the Bucks to wins in three outings. The highlight of his week was clearly his hat trick performance in a 4-3 overtime win at Fort Worth February 28th. In the first period he scored on a penalty shot, then added a power play marker in the third period to tie the score 3-3. In the extra frame, he wired his 43rd goal of the season to give him his first three goal outing of the season and the Bucks their sixth straight win. Grenville also currently leads the CHL with 23 goals scored while on the power play.
In San Angelo, netminder Reid continues to flourish this season for the Southwest Division leading Saints. On February 27th he recorded his third shutout of the season by making 40 saves in a 3-0 win at Austin. The following evening, he faced a 60-shot barrage in a 2-1 overtime loss in Oklahoma City. Reid's 98 saves on the week move him into the CHL lead with a 93.6 save percentage, and his 28 wins place him second behind Colorado's Ryan Bach and Wichita's Nathan Grobins, each with 29. Reid's 1359 saves this season also leads the CHL, 70 more than Amarillo's Shawn Degagne.
