CHIVAS USA HAS SECOND-OVERALL PICK IN 2013 MLS SUPERDRAFT
Chivas USA has the second-overall pick in Thursday's 2013 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas in Indianapolis beginning at 9 a.m. PT at the Indiana Convention Center. The Rojiblancos' No. 2 overall pick is the only selection the club has going into the draft.
Chivas USA has had success in previous SuperDrafts identifying top talents such as midfielder Sacha Kljestan (selected fifth-overall) and defender Jonathan Bornstein (37th), both in 2006. Last season's Chivas USA selection, forward Casey Townsend, made 10 starts in 17 appearances for the Red-and-White, recording two assists and a game-winning goal early in the 2012 season. The University of Maryland product was taken with the No. 5 pick.
