Chivas USA To Face Houston Dynamo In Santa Barbara On March 20 In Final Preseason Match

CARSON, Calif. (Friday, March 5, 2010) - Chivas USA announced today that it will face the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, March 20 at 7:00 p.m. PT at Harder Stadium on the campus of UC Santa Barbara in the final preseason match before the Red-and-White's 2010 Home Opener against the Colorado Rapids on March 26. Part of the proceeds for the Santa Barbara match will go to Direct Relief International to help aid their efforts for the earthquake victims in Haiti and Chile.

Tickets go on sale today, March 5, at local Santa Barbara merchant stores with prices as follows: $10 for children under 12 and students with valid ID, $15 General Admission, $20 for Reserved. In the match, Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy will return to UCSB, where he played four seasons of collegiate soccer. During his time on the field at Harder Stadium, Kennedy was named to the All-Big West Conference teams during his four seasons, earned Big West Goalkeeper of the Year in his last three seasons and was an All-American by College Soccer News his senior year.

Direct Relief International, which will receive a portion of the match proceeds, was founded in 1948 and is a Santa Barbara, California-based nonprofit organization focused on improving quality of life by bringing critically needed medicines and supplies to local healthcare providers worldwide. Preseason for the Red-and-White continues this weekend with a match against the Fresno Fuego at Chukchansi Park in Fresno on Saturday.
