CARSON, Calif. (Friday, Aug. 15, 2008) - Chivas USA midfielder Jesse Marsch could be out of game action for between six and eight weeks after suffering a fractured jaw in last night's 2-2 draw with the LA Galaxy. Marsch was diagnosed with the injury after receiving a blow to the face from the Galaxy's Sean Franklin in the 78th minute of the match.

Marsch is the only player to have appeared in every game of the season for Chivas USA, starting all 19 games the Red-and-White have played, and is tied for second on the team in goals, with four. The MLS Original has played a total of 292 regular-season games in his career (starting 260), and is one of only four players to have played in every MLS season since the league's inception in 1996. With Marsch's injury, Chivas USA now has a total of 11 players listed on its injury report.

Chivas USA starts a busy stretch of four games in 11 days for the team with a midweek match next Wednesday at the Houston Dynamo, before returning to The Home Depot Center on Saturday, Aug. 23 to play the San Jose Earthquakes. After kicking of its CONCACAF Champions League campaign against Tauro F.C. of Panama on the road on Tuesday, Aug. 26, the team closes the month against Toronto FC at home on Saturday, Aug. 30. Both home matches kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT, and tickets can be purchased by calling 1-877-CHIVAS-1 or by visiting www.cdchivasusa.com.
