Club Deportivo Chivas USA News Release

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, May 28, 2014) - Chivas USA will face the Carolina RailHawks of the North American Soccer League in the Fourth Round of the 101st Edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Saturday, June 14. The match now sets up a rematch from last year's Fourth-Round loss by the Red-and-White and will kick off at 5 p.m. (PT) at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.

The RailHawks advanced to the Fourth Round on Wednesday with a 2-0 win at home over USL PRO side and in-state rival the Charlotte Eagles. Chivas USA fell to the RailHawks, 3-1, in overtime last June in their second cup match which ended the club's hopes of reaching the Quarterfinals for the second consecutive year.

Chivas USA and the other 15 Major League Soccer clubs participating in the prestigious tournament enter the competition in the Fourth Round. The Rojiblancos have reached the Semifinals on two occasions, most recently in 2012. Should the Red-and-White win their opening match in the Open Cup, it will mark the third time they advance past the Fourth Round in club history.
