
Chivas USA Defender Steven Purdy Undergoes Season-Ending Surgery

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013) - Chivas USA defender Steven Purdy underwent successful reconstructive surgery today due to the numerous facial fractures suffered from the collision with San Jose Earthquakes Steven Lenhart. Purdy was subbed out and rushed to the hospital immediately after the accident, but surgery was postponed until the swelling decreased.
According to the postsurgical report, Purdy will be away from the soccer fields indefinitely, thus ending his participation in Major League Soccer's 2013 season.
Chivas USA wish Steven Purdy a speedy recovery and prompt return to the soccer field.
