Green Bay Rockers News Release

The Chinooks rallied in the 14th inning to score two runs and take down the Bullfrogs 3-1 in a marathon thriller on Friday night.

Derek Callahan (Gonzaga) started for the Bullfrogs and Tim Faix (Kent State) started for Lakeshore. Both pitchers quickly settled in at Joannes Stadium, where the scoring was quiet all night.

Harrison Bader (Florida) opened the scoring in the fourth inning. He found the trademark and hit his second home run of the season to left center, as it bounced off the top of the wall and out of the park. The Chinooks led it 1-0 heading to the bottom of the fourth inning.

Green Bay quickly struck back, however, with an RBI single from Tripp Martin (Samford) to score Boomer White (TCU) to tie the game at one after four innings.

Callahan and Faix continued their dominance the rest of their respective nights. Faix went 6.1 innings before getting in trouble, but was relieved by Dan Sayles (Sacramento City) who induced a 6-4-3 double play to get Lakeshore out of a bases loaded jam in the seventh inning.

Callahan went eight strong innings for Green Bay, only allowing six hits and striking out four batters.

Will Landsheft (Drury) pitched three scoreless innings in relief for Green Bay, striking out six including five in a row at one point.

After solid pitching for both the Chinooks and Bullfrogs, Jonathon Tripp (Texas Tech) faltered allowing a RBI triple from Aaron Machbitz (South Dakota State) that drove in Mike Papi (Virginia). Ryan Krill (Michigan State) then drove in Machbitz from third on a sacrifice fly to left field. Lakeshore led 3-1 going in to the bottom of the 14th inning.

Joe Pavlovich (UW-Oshkosh) pitched a perfect 14th inning to secure the sweep for the Chinooks.

The win went to Eric Hanhold (Florida), loss to Jonathon Tripp and save to Joe Pavlovich. Green Bay falls to 16-21 on the season and 0-2 in the second half of the season.

Green Bay begins a two game series against the Eau Claire Express tomorrow with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Come out to Joannes Stadium for Pajama Party at the Ballpark and Sudsy Saturday Presented by Bud Light with 107.5 The Fan.
