Chihuahuas Pull away in Ninth

The El Paso Chihuahuas led Saturday night's game in Las Vegas by two runs after eight innings before exploding for seven runs in an 11-batter ninth inning to win comfortably 13-4 over the 51s. The Chihuahuas have won five consecutive games and have a 9-1 road record this season.

El Paso starter Walker Lockett pitched six innings for the third straight start and allowed only one run. He also hit a three-run home run in the top of the second, his first career homer and the first by a Chihuahuas pitcher since Christian Bethancourt on July 25, 2017.

The Chihuahuas have scored 11 or more runs and collected 15 or more hits in each of their last two games. Chihuahuas pitchers have four hits over the last two games. Franmil Reyes went 1-for-6 with a home run Saturday, extending his hitting streak to seven games and his home run streak to three games, with all three homers traveling to right field.
