The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Las Vegas 51s 4-2 Thursday night at Cashman Field, advancing the Chihuahuas' all-time Opening Day record to 4-1.

Eric Lauer pitched six innings and got the win in his Triple-A debut. El Paso relievers Buddy Baumann, Kyle Lloyd and Jonathan Aro combined on three scoreless innings without allowing a hit.

El Paso's top two hitters in the batting order, Travis Jankowski and Luis Urias, reached base six times in 10 combined plate appearances. Franmil Reyes went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in his Triple-A debut, while Javy Guerra hit an opposite field solo home run in his first Triple-A game.

The Chihuahuas had their leadoff batter reach base in six of nine innings Thursday. El Paso went 2-for-2 pinch-hitting, with both Diego Goris and Shane Peterson picking up singles.
