Dustin Tokarski tied the franchise record for shutouts in a season with his fourth of the year in a 1-0 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday night in the Spokane Arena. Three of the 18-year-old's shutouts have come against the Thunderbirds. Tokarski won his 13th of the year and lowered his league leading goals against average to 1.76.
Chris Bruton tallied the only goal of the game with a power play goal, his 12th of the year, at 7:46 of the first period. Ondøej Roman and Mitch Wahl assisted on the goal.
Tokarski stopped 21 shots as Spokane outshot Seattle 25-21.
The 1-0 game was the 14th time in franchise history, 12th in the regular season, that Spokane has played to that score.
Spokane keeps a six point lead over the Tri-City Americans for first place in the U.S. Division on the eve of their second meeting of the year in Spokane. The Americans will visit at 7:00 on Supercuts Buck Night with the first 5,000 fans through the gates receiving a pair of CheerStix.
