Chiefs Unveil 2008-09 Marketing Campaign

September 11, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Johnstown Chiefs News Release

Johnstown, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs are pleased to announce their marketing campaign and slogan for the 2008-09 season: "Johnstown is Chiefstown."

"We're extremely excited about our marketing campaign for this season," said Director of Business Operations Eric Wolfgang. "The Johnstown is Chiefstown slogan really highlights what we want to accomplish this season. We want to make the community feel like the Chiefs are a team that they can rally around and get a feeling of pride by saying 'That's my team.' And, of course, the Chiefs are going to be very active in the community, and reach out to the people who support them so well."

Highlighting the campaign this season is a thrilling promotional schedule, a brand-new and streamlined website, and an overall heightened presence of the Chiefs in and around Johnstown. The promotional schedule will be released, and the new website will launch in the near future.

The Johnstown Chiefs are the only ECHL member club still playing in its original city, and celebrated its 20th Anniversary Season last season. Having played at the Cambria County War Memorial since 1988, the Chiefs have added a rich chapter to the story and legacy of professional hockey in Johnstown that dates back to the Johnstown Blue Birds in 1941. The continued support of the Johnstown community is solely responsible for the Chiefs' continued success, and that support was highlighted by a single-game record crowd of 4,238 last season on November 30, 2007 against Cincinnati. As it has been for the last 20 years, the people of Johnstown continue to prove that Johnstown is Chiefstown!!

Mark your calendars! The Chiefs kick off their 2008-09 home schedule on Saturday, October 18 against their archrivals, the Wheeling Nailers at 7:05 PM. You won't want to miss a minute of the action! Full Season, Mini, and Total Choice Flex ticket packages are all available now. We have a ticket plan that's right for everyone so reserve yours today by calling 814-539-1799 or 1-800-SLAPSHOT.
