Chiefs Trade Couto to Mississippi

Johnstown, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets, and the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters and Syracuse Crunch, announced today that defenseman Justin Coutu has been traded to the Mississippi Sea Wolves in exchange for future considerations.

Coutu was acquired by the Chiefs via a trade with the Augusta Lynx on December 7, 2007. Former Chiefs defenseman B.J. Crum was later sent to Augusta to complete the trade. In 30 games with Johnstown, Coutu amassed six points (1g, 5a), 39 penalty minutes, and held a plus-5 rating. The Maple Ridge, BC native also had three assists and 20 PIMs in 13 games with Augusta.
