Victoria Salmon Kings News Release

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed forward Jeremy Schenderling for the 2008-09 season.

The 6-2, 200lb right winger is entering his second professional season after splitting last season with both the Columbia Inferno and the Augusta Lynx. In a combined 47 games he counted 23 points (9g-14a) and earned 46 minutes in penalties. In the playoffs with Columbia, the 22-year-old played in six games and was assessed six minutes in penalties.

"Jeremy provides us with a little bit of everything," General Manager and Head coach Mark Morrision said. "He will bring energy to our team, but he is more than just a hard worker. He is a good skater who will put the puck in the net and provide a physical presence when he's on the ice."

The Langley, BC native spent parts of six seasons in the WHL with both the Kootenay Ice and Swift Current Broncos. During his junior career he played in 321 games and collected 66 goals and 54 assists for 120 points and picked up 385 minutes in penalties.

Schenderling is the ninth player the Salmon Kings have signed for the upcoming season. He joins fellow forwards Jacob Dietrich, Marc Fulton, Wes Goldie, Darryl Lloyd and Chris St. Jacques as well as defenseman Matt Kelly, Mike Nesdill and Jeremy Swanson.
