Spokane Chiefs News Release

SPOKANE, Wash. - Stop us if you've heard this one before: Chiefs forward Jaret Anderson-Dolan extended his goal streak. The Los Angeles Kings prospect scored again to push his streak to seven games on Saturday night as the Chiefs bested the Victoria Royals, 6-1 in front of a sold out Spokane Arena crowd. Rookie Adam Beckman picked up his second career four-point night with two goals and two assists.

Continuing a trend from Friday night, the Chiefs controlled the scoring in the first period, picking up goals from Ethan McIndoe at 1:59 and Beckman at 7:23.

Each team registered a goal in the second, including Anderson-Dolan's streak-extender; his eighth goal over the last seven games. Brandon Cutler was responsible for Victoria's lone score.

Beckman struck again in the final period, scoring his 29th goal of the season and moving into a tie with Riley Woods for the team lead in goals as the Chiefs went up 4-1. Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick Filip Kral found the net for the second time in as many nights, tying his career high with nine goals. New Jersey Devils first round pick Ty Smith added one at 16:10, with help from Beckman, to reach the final 6-1 margin.

Starting in goal on back-to-back nights, Bailey Brkin was 21-of-22 for the Chiefs as finished the weekend a combined 58-for-60 in wins over the Royals and Vancouver Giants. Victoria's Griffen Outhouse started and turned away 20 of 23 shots faced in 40 minutes. Back-up Brock Gould came on in relief in the third period and made eight saves on 11 shots faced.

Spokane was 1-for-5 on the power play while Victoria was 0-for-2.

The win clinches at least third place in the U.S. Division for Spokane, guaranteeing a first round playoff series with the Portland Winterhawks.
