Syracuse Mets News Release

Tuesday night's game between the Syracuse Chiefs and Charlotte Knights has been postponed due to poor field conditions and weather-related concerns. The two teams will make the game up as part of a Wednesday -evening doubleheader, scheduled to begin at 5:05 p.m.

"We feel it is best to postpone this game for the safety of both teams' players", said Chiefs general manager Jason Smorol. "Based on the unusual amount of recent rain, with more rain scheduled for later today, our field is currently soft as it has taken more rain than expected. We look forward to a great start to this exciting homestand on Wednesday night."

Chiefs RHP Austin Voth is expected to start game one on Wednesday against Knights right-hander and 2016 Chiefs starter Lucas Giolito . The starting pitchers for game two have yet to be announced.

Tickets for today's game can be exchanged for a ticket of equal or lesser value for any regular-season game during the remainder of the season.

The Chiefs' homestand will now begin with a Winning Wednesday, where fans can exchange their ticket for a ticket for any future Chiefs game with a Syracuse win. The remainder of the homestand features Return of the Zombies Night on a $1 Thursday, Faith and Family Night with a Team Photo Giveaway on a Fireworks Friday, Little League Appreciation Night on a Super Saturday and Autism Awareness Day on an NBT Bank Family Sunday . Tickets are available by calling 315-474-7833, online at syracusechiefs.com or by visiting the NBT Bank Stadium ticket office during regular business hours.
