Peoria Chiefs News Release
PEORIA, IL- The Sunday afternoon game between the Peoria Chiefs and Bowling Green Hot Rods has been cancelled due to rain. Since the two teams do not play again in 2014, the game will not be made up with the Chiefs (5-4) sweeping a now two-game series from the Hot Rods (2-7).
The Chiefs now head to Eastlake, Ohio and a three game series against the Lake County Captains (Cleveland Indians). The series starts Monday and all three games will be at 5:30 Central Time with the Monday broadcast starting with the Pre-Game Show at 5:10 p.m. (CT), on www.peoriachiefs.com/listenlive which also has downloads for a free app on the iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and Android. The broadcast is also available on the Peoria Chiefs Network in the Tune-In Radio App.
The Chiefs are expected to start Sunday's scheduled starter Alex Reyes (1-0, 0.00) against the Captains with the rotation all being pushed back one day. The Captains are scheduled to start LH Luis Lugo (0-1, 9.82) assuming they are able to play Sunday afternoon in Kane County. The Chiefs will also play three games in Fort Wayne, Indiana against the Tincaps on this road trip with an offday next Sunday for Easter. The Chiefs return home Monday, April 21 to host the Cedar Rapids Kernels at 6:30 p.m.
