Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs have acquired an eighth-round pick in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft from the Victoria Royals in exchange for forward Grady Lane (2003).

"With the addition of Conner Roulette, league rules only allow teams to have three overage players, which put us in a position to have to try and find another team for Grady," Spokane Chiefs General Manager Matt Bardsley said. "Grady is a tremendous teammate, leader and most importantly, a terrific person. We thank him for all he has done for the Chiefs organization and wish him nothing but the best in Victoria."

Lane played 129 games for Spokane, posting 8 goals and 15 assists for 23 total points. He also served as an Alternate Captain during the 2022-23 season and earned the season's Players' Player Award, as voted on by his fellow Chiefs. The Manitoba native was originally the Chiefs' eighth-round pick (156th overall) in the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft.
