Chico Gets Payback

The Chico Outlaws evened the series with a 9-5 win over the Fullerton Flyers in front of the first sell out crowd in franchise history at Goodwin Field. 3,500 fans were in attendance, including the Villa Park Little League, to see the Zooperstars and a close ball game.

The score was 6-5 Chico when they added three runs in the 9th off reliever Nick Casanova. Craig Kuzmic, who homered earlier in the game, dealt the decisive blow with a two-run double in the 9th.

Chico scored four runs in the 2nd inning off Wes Faust.

The Flyers answered with four runs in their half of the 2nd behind rookie Gabriel Mayorga's two-run homerun.

Mike Mallory drove in his league leading 27th RBI in the 3rd inning to break the 4-4 tie.

The Flyers evened the score in the 4th inning when Toshi Sasa drove in Matt Ferrara.

Chico took the lead for good in the 7th inning when Desi Wilson drove in Rob Gandolfo off of Casanova.

The Flyers and Outlaws will play a doubleheader tomorrow starting at 5:05 pm.

The Flyers record dropped to 11-11.
