the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks a 2-1 loss in Game 2 of the West Division Final
at the Allstate Arena
--- Left wing KARL STEWART tallied the short-handed game-winner and center
CORY LAROSE added a power-play marker
--- Goaltender MICHAEL GARNETT turned aside 35 of 36 shots

--- The Wolves opened up an early lead and never looked back, defeating the
Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, 5-2, in Game 1 of the West Division Final at the
Allstate Arena
--- Left wing KARL STEWART recorded two goals while forwards LONNY BOHONOS
(G, A), DEREK MacKENZIE (G, A) and STEVE MALTAIS (2A) collected two points
--- Netminder KARI LEHTONEN registered 27 saves

--- KARL STEWART: Registered three goals in the last two games, which
includes a postseason career-high two markers last Wednesday ... Accrued
both game-winning goals this series, which shares first in the AHL ...Shares
sixth in the league with a team-leading four goals in seven games after
recording two markers in 10 playoff games last year ... Paces the AHL with a
.571 shooting percentage (four goals on seven shots)
--- KARI LEHTONEN: Shares second in the league with five wins and third with
one shutout ... Ranks second in the AHL with a 1.49 goals-against average
and a .948 save percentage ... Currently on a four-game winning streak,
which includes his second AHL playoff shutout on April 23.... Named the
Finnish Elite League's MVP in 2002 after leading Jokerit Helsinki to the
championship as the league's youngest goalie at age 18
--- MICHAEL GARNETT: Stopped 35 of the 36 shots he faced on Saturday to win
his first-ever AHL playoff game ... Ranked second in the ECHL last
postseason with 770 minutes and tied for third with seven playoff wins with
the Gwinnett Gladiators
--- LONNY BOHONOS: Paces the Wolves with five assists and is tied for first
on the team with six points in seven games .... Paced Zurich of the Swiss
Elite League with eight assists and 11 points in 11 games during the
playoffs last year ... Led the Swiss Elite League with 21 points (13G, 8A)
in 16 postseason games to help Davos win the league championship in 2002
--- CORY LAROSE: Posted his team-leading second power-play goal of the
playoffs on Saturday ... Shares third on the club with five points (2G, 3A)
in seven games ... Tied for second on the Hartford Wolf Pack last year with
six assists and ranked third with 10 points in 14 playoff games
--- TRAVIS ROCHE: Tied for second on the team with four assists in seven
games, which includes a helper in each of his last two contests ... Shares
second among league blueliners and fifth overall in the AHL with a
team-leading +6 plus/minus rating ... Tallied five assists and eight points
in 23 playoff games to help the Houston Aeros earn the 2003 Calder Cup
WOLF TRACKS
--- Chicago has won five straight games, just one shy of matching the
postseason franchise-high six-game winning streak from May 16 to 28, 2000.
--- The Wolves have recorded a perfect 5-0 mark when scoring first this
postseason; Chicago ranks third in the AHL among active playoff teams with
five first goals.
--- The Wolves rank third in the league on the penalty kill at 90.7 percent
(39 of 43).
--- Chicago netted its first short-handed goal of the playoffs on Saturday;
the team registered a franchise-high four shorties in 16 games during the
2000 postseason
A PERFECT 10
The Wolves have surrendered just 10 goals in seven games, the fewest in the AHL. The 10 goals against mark the fewest the team has allowed through the first seven playoff games in franchise history.
NOTABLE
Chicago has won three straight road games, just two victories shy of matching the franchise-record five straight wins recorded from May 1 to 23, 2000. The Wolves' best road mark came in 2000 when they notched a 7-1 mark away from home (.875) en route to the Turner Cup Championship. Overall, Chicago has notched a 33-29 (.532) mark on the road during the postseason in the team's 11-year history.
