"Day of Game" prices will increase by $1 per ticket for all price types, including Senior and Youth. Tickets for individual games will go on sale at the Cumberland County Civic Center Box Office and through Ticketmaster on Monday, October 3, 2005.
The Pirates 2005-06 pricing and plans result from a new "rescaled" seat location program, matching customer demand with the team's desire for a more exciting and intimate "lower bowl" atmosphere in the building as the Pirates launch a new era of AHL action in Portland with its new NHL affiliate. The new rescaled house will be enhanced by the Civic Center's new state-of-the art video and scoreboard technology planned for the start of the 2005-06 season.
"A long term lease with the Civic Center allows us now to put in place a long term ticket sales program, starting with the rescaling of the house, which is something we've been wanting to do for the last few years. Our ticket program aligns with what the Civic Center's commitment to new technology (video replays, animations, fan interaction, etc.) will bring to our fans, all with a goal of improving the fan experience, which we're confident will take place beginning this October. It's the start of a new era of Portland Pirates Hockey and it begins in 159 days. We'll be out in the market like never before spreading the word about what's in the works with a new energy and excitement about Pirates Hockey, the most exciting sport in Portland," said Pirates Managing Owner/CEO, Brian Petrovek.
The Pirates 2005-06 regular season schedule is expected to be announced in early August. Fans can look forward to the return of "Saturday Night is Hockey Night in Portland" as the team's promotional focus. Hockey Night in Portland will include pre and post-game restaurant specials, the team's most popular give-aways, contests for fans of all ages and post-game parties with the team. The Pirates will unveil their complete promotional program with the release of their schedule.
