
Chicago Storms past Milwaukee, 5-1

CHICAGO (February 11, 2005) â The Milwaukee Wave traveled to the Chicago Storm to play in front a crowd of 3,628 at the UIC Pavilion. The Storm came out on top, with a score of 5-1. The Wave will return to "The Cell", U.S. Cellular Arena, to take on the Baltimore Blast on Sunday, February 13 at 1 p.m.
Off the assist by Pat White, Johnny Torres took a close shot for the first goal of the evening's contest versus the Chicago Storm. The goal, scored at 11:23 in the game, was the only goal of the first quarter.
The second quarter started out with Chicago taking the lead at 4:40 when Lazo Alavanja took the assist from teammate Gus Karterouliotis to tie the game. Less than two minutes later, the Storm took the lead with a goal by Mark Ughy, assisted by Novica Marojevic. At 10:27, Karterouliotis was able to shoot one past a helpless Nick Vorberg for Chicago's third goal of the night. One minute later, the Storm scored its fourth unanswered goal by Ughy at 11:52.
The Chicago Storm started the third quarter at 8:54 with an unassisted goal by Nino DaSilva. No more goals were scored during the third quarter, leaving the Storm ahead of Milwaukee, five to one.
A defensive battle ensued throughout the fourth quarter of the evening's contest. A scoreless fourth left the Storm ahead of the Wave, five to one.
The Wave returns home on Sunday, February 13 at 1 p.m. to take on the Baltimore Blast. This is another Piggly Wiggly Family Four Pack Day. Fans receive four (4) $14.00 tickets, four (4) small sodas and four (4) hotdogs for only 50 dollars. The following Sunday, February 20, the Chicago Storm visits "The Cell" to play again at 1 p.m. February 20 is Usinger's Day with the Wave. When fans bring in a grocery receipt showing at least two (2) Usinger's products, they will receive three (3) dollars off the purchase of any price Wave ticket.

The Milwaukee Wave was established in 1984 as one of six charter members of the American Indoor Soccer Association (AISA). In 2001, the Wave transitioned to being a successful member of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). Through the guidance of head coach Keith Tozer, the winningest coach in Wave and North American indoor soccer history, the Wave has won three league titles (1997-'98, '99-2000, 2000-'01), six regular season championships, and has made six championship series appearances.
