CHICAGO - The WNBA Chicago Sky (3-4) will face the Washington Mystics (2-6) on Friday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the UIC Pavilion, after winning two back-to-back games against the expansion Atlanta Dream (0-7) this past weekend. The Sky prevailed during the June 6 game in Atlanta, 86-72, with Jia Perkins and Dominique Canty each scoring 16 points. Both teams travelled to Chicago on Saturday morning and played again that night. The Sky built a nine-point lead at the end of the first quarter and continued to run away from the Dream for a 91-70 home win and weekend sweep. Candice Dupree led the Sky with 20 points.

In the highly-anticipated June 3 game against the LA Sparks and Naperville native Candace Parker, the Sky erased a 14-point fourth-quarter Sparks lead, but came up short in overtime, 81-77. In front of the Sky's first sellout crowd of 6,304, Candice Dupree led the Sky with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Armintie Price was fast and tenacious in nearly 28 minutes of play defending Parker, holding her to only 12 points and 7 rebounds, tying her season low. Price also held Parker to only one assist in the game, well below her 6.25 assists per game average for the previous 4 games.

SKY VS. MYSTICS HISTORY

The Sky is 1-6 lifetime against the Washington Mystics, with one win and three losses in the 2007 season. The Sky's lone victory over the Mystics came on June 1, 2007, in Washington, 75-70. The Sky has never beaten the Mystics at home.

DADS AND DAUGHTERS NIGHT In honor of Father's Day, the Chicago Sky will celebrate Dads and Daughters Night on June 13, when the Sky takes on the Washington Mystics. Friday night is also CARE Night, and the Chicago Sky will be supporting CARE and its mission of empowering women by auctioning off autographed t-shirts on the Pavilion concourse.

CHICAGO SKY INJURY REPORT- SYLVIA FOWLES AND BROOKE QUEENAN Chicago Sky center Sylvia Fowles injured her left knee in the third quarter during the Sky's game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday, June 3, 2008. She was taken to the University of Illinois Medical Center for x-rays and an MRI where doctors determined that Fowles has a knee sprain. No surgery is required. She is began treatments at AthletiCo on June 4, and is expected to be out four to six weeks.

Chicago Sky reserve forward Brooke Queenan is being treated with antibiotics for an inflammatory process in the lower right quadrant of her abdomen. Queenan has been released from the University of Illinois Medical Center and doctors are continuing to monitor her progress.

CHICAGO SKY SIGNS TYE'SHA FLUKER The Sky has signed center Tye'sha Fluker to a free agent contract. Fluker, a 6'5" center, was selected by the Charlotte Sting in the first round (10th overall) of the 2006 WNBA Draft. She averaged 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in 31 games played and ranked fourth among rookies in blocks per game. In 2007, Fluker played in 9 games for the Seattle Storm before being waived on July 2, 2007. She was picked up by Los Angeles on July 5 and appeared in 12 games for the Sparks in the 2007 season, averaging 3.3 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. During 2008 training camp, Fluker played in all three pre-season games for the Sparks, scoring 2 points and grabbing 3 rebounds in 14 minutes of play on May 8 against the Sky at Sears Centre Arena. In her first game with the Sky, at Atlanta on June 6, Fluker was 2-for-2 from the field, finishing with 4 points, 1 blocked shot and no rebounds in 12:34 minutes of play. In her home debut on June 7, she scored 7 points on 2-3 shooting, 3-4 from the charity stripe.
