Chicago Sky Releases Three Players from 2007 Training Camp

CHICAGO, May 8, 2007 - The Chicago Sky released Cisti Greenwalt, Chelsi Welch and Christina Quaye on May 7, 2007 as the team gets closer to finalizing its 2007 roster.

Greenwalt was waived after playing in two pre-season games. She was selected in the third round of the 2005 WNBA Draft by the Sacramento Monarchs and played in five games for the Seattle Storm in the 2006 season, averaging 4.8 minutes per game. A graduate of Texas Tech University, Greenwalt was the Big 12 and Texas Tech all-time leader in career blocked shots, and ranks 18th all-time at Texas Tech in career points and seventh in career rebounds.

Quaye played in two pre-season games, including an exhibition game on her college court at Marquette. She was twice named to the All-Big East Second Team and was the Golden Eagles' MVP in her junior and senior years. Quaye finished her college career with 1,720 points and 754 rebounds.

Welch also played in two pre-season games. She finished her college career at the University of Oklahoma as the Sooners' 18th all-time leading scorer with 1,186 career points and was one of only 21 players in school history to score 1,000 points.

The Chicago Sky opens the regular season at home on May 22 against the Los Angeles Sparks. The Sky is the newest of 13 teams in the WNBA, the longest- running women's professional sports league in the world. The Sky celebrated it inaugural season in 2006.
