
Chicago Sky Acquire Tamera Young from Atlanta in Trade

CHICAGO, August 12, 2009 - The Chicago Sky traded third-year guard Armintie Price to Atlanta for second-year forward Tamera Young, announced Head Coach and General Manager Steven Key today.
As the Sky continues to finalize their roster in anticipation of making it to playoffs the team pick-up 6'2" Young who appeared in 11 games for the Dream in 2009 coming off the bench to average 6.5 minutes per game. She has scored 2.7 points per game and grabbed 1.3 rebounds per game.
"The addition of Tamera to our roster will huge for us. We've been struggling under the basket, and it's been obvious that our rebounding isn't where it should be, Tamera is 6'2" and will help contribute to crashing the boards," said General Manager and Head Coach Steven Key. "I wish Armintie the best in Atlanta, this trade will hopefully be an opportunity for AP to get more playing time. She is a hard worker, a phenomenal athlete and a team player, this wasn't the easiest decision as she will be missed by the organization."
The forward out of James Madison played in 33 games during her rookie season starting 15. Her rookie season she averaged over 7 points and 4 rebounds per game.
Young scored a season-high nine in a loss to Chicago in Atlanta. She played 14 minutes in the game and shot 3-of-7 from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line.
Price will arrive in Atlanta having played in 22 games for the Sky while averaging 14.7 minutes, 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 points per game.
