Bridgeview, Ill. (April 28, 2009) - The Chicago Red Stars will play an exhibition match against its exclusive professional W-League affiliate FC Indiana this Saturday, May 2. The match will be contested at 7:00 pm at Kuntz Stadium in Indianapolis.

"This is a great opportunity over a bye week to keep our players sharp," said Red Stars Coach Emma Hayes. "The match will allow all of the players on our very deep bench to get some game time against a first-class opponent."

FC Indiana went 16-1-1 during the 2008 campaign, winning the Central Conference before falling in the W-League championship match. The Lionesses took WPS club Sky Blue FC to the wire earlier this month, allowing two goals in stoppage time in a 2-1 loss.

The Red Stars enter their bye week off a record-setting 4-0 win over Boston. Chicago sits in second place in the WPS standings with eight points. Red Stars forward Lindsay Tarpley is tied for second in the league with two goals scored and goalkeeper Caroline Jönsson leads the league with 23 saves.

Tickets for the FC Indiana match are $12 and are available through the club's website, http://www.fcindiana.com.

The Red Stars return to WPS action on Sunday, May 10th at TOYOTA PARK for a rematch with Natasha Kai and Sky Blue FC. In recognition of Mother's Day the Chicago Red Stars, in partnership with the Mexican Board of Tourism, are providing free admission to all mothers. In addition, every mother will receive complimentary flowers, courtesy of Bella Florists. Tickets are available by calling (866) WPS-2009 or logging on to www.chicagoredstars.com.
