Chicago Red Stars Release 2017 Schedule

CHICAGO - The Chicago Red Stars and National Women's Soccer League unveiled the club's 2017 NWSL schedule. Chicago will begin the season on the road against the Houston Dash for the second year in a row on Saturday, April 15.

Chicago will make their home debut at Toyota Park on Saturday, April 22 for the battle of the Midwest against FC Kansas City.

With a new platform from the league that has each team partake in a 24-game schedule, Chicago will host 12 regular season home matches during the 2017 season. Included in those 12 home matches, three teams, Kansas City (April 22, Aug. 20), Seattle (June 4, Aug. 16) and NWSL Champions North Carolina, formerly Western New York Flash, will visit Toyota Park twice. The Red Stars will head to Houston (April 15, Sept. 23), Orlando (July 1, Aug. 5) and Portland (April 29, Sept. 30) two times in 2017.

Overall, the Red Stars look to play matches on four different days of the week, including 21 weekend contests. In addition to playing six Saturday home games, the Red Stars host five Sunday home games and one Wednesday night match at Toyota Park.

The Red Stars will end regular season on the road, as Chicago will face off against Kansas City (Sept. 9), Houston (Sept. 23) and Portland (Sept. 30).

Chicago will kick off its first practice on March 13 and three days later will participate in an exhibition match against the University of Wisconsin - Madison on March 16.
