Chicago Red Stars Name Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush as Official Orthopedic Providers and Team Physicians

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Chicago Red Stars today announced Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) as the official orthopedic providers and team physicians of the club. Leading the MOR team is Dr. Joshua Blomgren, an experienced sports medicine physician who has worked with some of Chicago's top professional athletes and teams, including the Chicago Fire Soccer Club. Dr. Blomgren will be working with Dr. Brian Cole, the head orthopedic surgeon consultant, to care for the organization along with other physicians and specialists from MOR.

"As the Chicago Red Stars enter a new era, it is a priority of mine, and club leadership, to provide the best possible care and resources to our players," said Red Stars General Manager, Michelle Lomnicki. "Dr. Blomgren and the Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush team have extensive experience with professional athletes in Chicago, and we believe that experience can best serve our players to help them perform to best of their abilities."

"I am extremely honored to be named the Chief Medical Officer for the Chicago Red Stars ahead of the upcoming season," said Dr. Blomgren. "I look forward to the opportunity to bring my clinical expertise and that of my colleagues at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush to the players and staff of the Red Stars. It is very exciting to join such a successful organization during a World Cup year and to have some Chicago Red Stars represent their countries on the largest stage."
