CHICAGO, Ill. - Despite holding the lead in the first half, the Red Stars fell to the Kansas City Current by a score of 2-1 at SeatGeek Stadium.

KEY MOMENTS:

'16 Zoe Morse cleanly stops a dangerous run from Sam Mewis in the Chicago 18-yard box

'21 Vanesssa DiBernardo takes a shot from outside the box that deflects off of a Current player and finds the back of the net

'35 Bianca St-Georges takes advantage of a loose ball in the Kansas City box and takes a shot that goes just wide of the goal

'39 Mal Pugh forces a turnover by Adrianna Franch, passes it to Bianca St-Georges who commits a foul trying to get a shot on goal

'51 Mal Pugh takes a set piece shot directly at goal that hits the cross bar GAME NOTES:

This is Kansas City's first win against the Red Stars in their club's history.

The Red Stars dominated possession throughout the game, and completed 214 passes in Kansas City's half. The Current only completed 181 passes in the Red Stars' half.

Despite not much time on the field together, Zoe Morse and Kayla Sharples were able to combine for nine clearances, leading the team's back line.
