Chicago Fire FC News Release

CHICAGO, IL (August 29, 2009) - Chicago Fire Soccer and the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) launched a special text messaging campaign to public school students throughout Chicago to encourage them to attend the first day of school on September 8th.

The first 500 students who text the phrase "CPSGOFIRE" will be eligible to win tickets to the Chicago Fire match on September 20 against the 2008 MLS champs, Columbus Crew. Students will receive a bounce back message that states: Remember the first day of school is Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Remember to go on the first day and every day thereafter! Your future is your ticket. They will then be randomly selected to win Fire tickets. This offer will be available through Friday, September 4th. The Fire and CPS have partnered with Univision Radio in promoting this opportunity.

"This is a unique way to reach students and encourage them to attend their first day of school - if they attend the first day, they're more likely to attend the second day and thereafter, so it's critical that we get kids in the door on day one. The Fire is committed to doing whatever it can to help CPS make that a reality," said Chicago Fire President, Dave Greeley.

The Fire is at home tonight at TOYOTA PARK to face Eastern Conference rival D.C. United (7:30 p.m. CT, FSC/FSE). For tickets please visit www.Chicago-Fire.com or call 1-888-MLS-FIRE.
