
Chicago Fire Heads into One-Week FIFA Break

CHICAGO - After playing three straight away games in 11 days, Chicago Fire FC will have a break from league play next weekend during the FIFA international window.
The Fire enter the FIFA break coming off a 1-0 win on the road over the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena on Aug. 28. Forward Robert Berić scored the game's lone goal, bagging his third of the season in the 32nd minute. The victory marked Chicago's fifth shutout of the season, while the Red Bulls suffered a home defeat for just the third time in 2021.
Following the upcoming break, Chicago will resume regular season action against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Children's Mercy Park, continuing its stretch of six consecutive games on the road. The match against Sporting KC will begin at 7:30 p.m. CT on WGN-TV, CFFC Live and Latino Mix 93.5 FM.
