CHICAGO, IL (April 29, 2010) - Andrew Dykstra picked up his first NAPA MLS Save of the Week Award after his crucial double save this past Saturday in the Fire's 2-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo. Dykstra stopped Houston defender Andrew Hainault's initial header on goal and sprang to his feet to save Dominic Oduro's rebound attempt to preserve the Fire's 1-0 lead in the 57th minute.

Dykstra, who is in his first season as the Fire's No. 1 goalkeeper, also earned a shutout in the Fire's 2-0 win over D.C. United on April 17 at RFK Stadium. He tallied his first career assist in the win, bombing a free kick to the head of striker Brian McBride .

Dykstra earned 39 percent of the vote, topping Houston defender Mike Chabala 's goal-line stop of an early McBride strike in the Houston-Chicago matchup.

The Fire take on Chivas USA in pursuit of their third consecutive victory this Saturday, May 1 at 7:30 PM CT. For tickets please visit the club's official website at www.Chicago-Fire.com or call 1-888-MLS-FIRE.
