Chicago Bandits News Release

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Courtney Gano is expecting her first child with fiance Abdul Gaddy, the couple announced via Gano's Instagram on Wednesday.

"Obviously, this next summer is going to look a bit different for me, but I'm not planning on this being the end of my playing career," Gano said. "These past two seasons with the Bandits have been more than I could have ever asked for. The support from the Bandits, my teammates, and the league has been nothing short of amazing and I'm excited for what's to come!"

"We had no idea that when we called to offer her a contract that this would be the exciting news we'd be getting!" Assistant General Manager Jourdan Skirha said "Courtney has been a valuable member of our team and we couldn't be happier for her and Abdul. We wish them the best in this new chapter of their lives and look forward to seeing Courtney and her new addition back in the Black and Orange."

After joining the team in 2018, Gano has been the choice in tough situations at the plate, posting 172 at-bats in 71 games. Last summer, Gano had 17 hits and 10 RBI, including a clutch two-run home run in a decisive 8-2 win over the USSSA Pride.

Gano plans to return for the 2021 season. She is due with a baby boy in July.
