Chicago Bandits Announce 2020 Home Opener

January 31, 2020 - National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) - Chicago Bandits News Release

Rosemont, Ill. - The Chicago Bandits first home game of the 2020 NPF season will be played Wednesday June 10th at 7:00 PM against the NPF's newest expansion team, the California Commotion.

"We are really excited to host the Commotion for our home opener," Jourdan Skirha, the Chicago Bandits Assistant GM said. "It'll be a great atmosphere showcasing some of the most skilled softball players in the country. We're geared up for another season of growing the game and proving these women are worth watching."

This home opener will bring back a familiar face as former Bandit and first female Rawlings Gold Glove recipient A.J. Andrews returns to Rosemont.

In addition to the first taste of a new competitor, the Bandits home opener will be part of "Future Bandit Night", a promotion that encourages young softball players to attend the game in uniform. Players who wear their jersey to Parkway Bank Sports Complex on June 10th will be able to purchase a $5 ticket, receive a Future Bandit certificate and take part in a pregame field parade.

"Future Bandit Night is important not only to us, but also to these young players so that they know that this could be them," Skirha said. "We've got the next generation of amazing softball players at our fingertips, and we're here to encourage them to follow those passions."

The Bandits are coming off an incredibly successful season in 2019 as NPF Regular Season Champions and Head Coach Lauren Lappin is busy behind the scenes assembling the roster and preparing for the draft.

The complete schedule for 2020 Bandits home games will be released later this month. All tickets will be on sale beginning Friday, February 14th at 10:00 AM.
